How to play with checkers pieces

Required Pieces

• Checkers board.
• 12 white checkers pieces.
• 9 black checkers pieces.
• 1 die.

The concept

In order to play with real checkers pieces, the black pieces represent the cat,

the white pieces represent the hounds and the die represnt phases and measurements.

The Cat

A classical cat is represented by a single black piece.

Quantum cats are represented by several pieces,

where 2, 3 and 4 stacked pieces represent the left, center and right cats, respectively.

The cat with a different phase than the others is represented by the die.

The Hounds

A classical hound is represented by a single white piece.

Quantum dogs are represented by several pieces, similarly to the quantum cats.

Hence, same-sized black-and-white stacks represent the same quantum state.

The Die

• To represent a phase-flipped quantum-state, place the die on top of the different-phased cat stack.
• To count the number of turns until the measurement, change the upward face of the die, in a decreasing manner, starting from 5 when the cat is split.
• At the measurement turn, throw the die: 1/2 means the left-cat position was measured, 3/4 the center-cat position, and 5/6 the right cat position was measured.
